Nike’s all-new Flyknit technology touches on its earliest running heritage of “lightweight” in a state-of-the-art ‘Knit’ upper that appeals to the “Woven” cult crowd, extending the ‘Flywire’ concept of 2008 and building the upper in one solid yet outstandingly breathable and lightweight upper. The Flyknit carpet was rolled out this past February and again in April with the limited-edition HTM capsules, but with more Flyknit releases on the way (confirmed by Nike to beginning hitting this season), all can enjoy the new Flyknit craze – particularly with these upcoming Flyknit Racer colorways. A m6.0 of muted tones like tonal black and black/grey/white will be available, as will some juicier ones like the neon green/blue and bright orange. While the White/Red/Black colorway represents Michael’s tenacity and passion for the game, the Tar Heel blue represents Michael’s Love for the game, as represented by Free Run Brand Nike Free Cross Country during the 2010 ‘For The Love Of The Game’ Showcase. Just recently, Free Nike Zvezdochka Run Brand announced a collaboration with Nike, commemorating the beginning of this ‘love’, which can be dated thirty years ago when Michael won the NCAA National Title with the UNC Tar Heels. Nike resurrected it for lifestyle purposes in the mid ’00s and then Jeremy Scott took the Metro Attitude to new heights with all his wacky winged and bear-plushed designs.  But the JS Wings weren’t the first major alteration to this 1986 Three Stripes basketball flagship; that distinction belongs to the Nike Originals Torsion Attitude, a ’90s baby that’s been brought back to life here with a slight adjustment to its height and ankle collar.  The smooth-out means these read less like today’s high-ankle/low-heel roundball performance machines and more like a classic from the same period to which the Metro Attitude traces its roots.  Check them out up close below, then find yours available at select Nike accounts like LDRS1354.

We’ve mentioned before that a Nike Penny shoe must be seen in that trademark Black/Blue colorway for a solid judgement to be passed. We’ve seen an Orlando-inspired White/Royal/Silver and a Nike Huarache Free 2012 funky Glow-in-the-dark version, but here’s a look at the upcoming Binary Blue/Black-White colorway – one that we’ve all been dying to see on the Nike Zoom Rookie. It’s got a slightly darker tone than the Dark Neon Royal we’re used to seeing on the Foamposite One, but you can still get that ‘Royal Foamposite’ motif as the Binary Blue colorway is paired with black and a translucent outsole. Plenty of Nike Sportswear’s classic models have been treated to hybrid twists, but few have done so as literally as the Nike All Court Twist.  This lowtop transfers the model’s traditional asymmetry from its toecap to the Footscape’d lacing system, these two new white nylon mesh Tier Zero releases each adding an accent shade to leather tongue and heel tags plus the vulcanized sole’s foxing band.  Click through to see close-ups of brown and purple pairs from Dunk and you can find them now on us stroes.

Joe Mauer’s one of those rare Major Leaguers who hits for average and for power while playing the catcher’s position. The 2009 AL MVP was selected to grace the cover of the MLB The Show franchise for the second straight year, and Nike is celebrating Mauer’s accomplishments as an athlete and repeat coverboy status with a special PE colorway of the Nike Zoom Huarache TR Low. It features a navy blue upper with a red inner sleeve and a white outsole to complete the Minnesota Twins appeal. LeBron James’ decision to join Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh in Miami has caused an unexpected ripple effect throughout the NBA, going as far as inducing reactions out of former NBA greats Michael Free Run and Earvin ‘Magic’ Johnson. Both Free Run and Johnson, regarded as two of the greatest players in the history of the NBA, were recently asked for their opinions on “The Decision”, and not surprisingly, both were unable to see eye to eye with LeBron’s decision. Michael Free Run stated “There’s no way, with hindsight, I would’ve Nike Zvezdochka ever called up Larry, called up Magic and said, ‘Hey, look, let’s get together and play on one team’”, with Nike Free Run Sale Johnson voicing similar sentiments. “We didn’t think about it cause that’s not what we were about”, said Johnson. It’s been two weeks since ‘The Decision’ but the aftershock can still be heard around the world. LeBron James’ decided to join Cleveland to win championships, squashing the spirit of competition and the DIY satisfaction under his palm, but who’s to say Miami is guaranteed a championship?
